This is my project on Chales Poston and how he mad a huge inpact on Arizona:

Charles Poston

By: Lauren Ruff

Charles Poston is the most influential person because he went to President Abraham Lincoln, asked him to make it a territory, and he did.  If               Charles didn’t go to Lincoln then Arizona wouldn’t be a territory.  If Charles didn’t do it then who would?

Charles Poston is the most influential person in Arizona’s history.

Poston talked to A. Lincoln into making Arizona a territory in 1863.  Now he was able to start mining again.  And live there.  Charles wanted to start         mining but couldn’t because it wasn’t allowed.  So, Poston went to A. Lincoln and asked for Arizona to be a territory.  And there it became on the map,         Arizona as a territory.

People already living in Arizona said no.  He wanted to mine and to rebuild his riches. From California to Arizona.  He couldn’t make a mine, dig         into the ground, or get the minerals from the ground.  That is why he went to A. Lincoln and said hey, if we use these minerals for the United States that         would be a big help.  And it was clear to the council that he was right.  Poston was able to get his riches, for himself.

That is about one of the only bad thing about Poston.  He did if for his own selfish reasons and not for Arizona or anybody who lived there.  Being             selfish didn’t change the fact that the minerals, and the other things in the ground did help.  The minerals and the other things in the ground were found by     miming.  That was what he planned to do with his big and selfish amount of his riches.

Charles Poston did so much for Arizona.  That is why he made the most historic impact in Arizona because of these things.  Poston is the most             amazing person.  Charles Poston is the most influential person in Arizona’s history.
